Please don’t store carry-on items on empty seats as this can be a safety issue, and make sure the
aisle is kept clear, including any shoulder straps.
Also, remember that alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, and e-cigarettes aren’t allowed on board.
For your convenience and to prevent loss or damage, keep important items in your carry-on, such
as:
Special Luggage
As part of our commitment to meeting our customers' needs, we’re making some changes to how
we handle extra luggage. To ensure there’s enough space on our shuttles, we’ll now be giving
extra attention to additional bags. As a result, any extra bags will come with a $15 plus tax ($16)
fee when you purchase your ticket. Once the fee is paid, these extra bags will be included in your
luggage allowance.
Protection of Luggage
Great North Express reserves the right to refuse luggage that is improperly packed or unsecured.
All items must be in a suitable container that minimizes the risk of damage or causing damage to
other luggage. Acceptable baggage includes items like suitcases, duffel bags, toolboxes, trunks,
backpacks, storage containers, and securely taped cardboard boxes. The final decision on
whether luggage is secure for transportation rests with Great North Express staff to ensure the
safe handling of all items.
To avoid mix-ups, we recommend placing a visible identifier on your stored luggage, such as a
luggage tag with your name, address, and phone number. Great North Express is not liable for
any passenger mistakenly taking the wrong piece of luggage.
The maximum baggage liability is $300.00. Great North Express is not responsible for the loss
of, or damage to, checked luggage exceeding this liability limit.
Please report any damage to Great North Express by phone (+1 6395712166) or email
(customerservice@greatnorthexpress.ca) within 24 hours, or your claim may be refused.
Lost & Found items left onboard our shuttles or in our offices will be kept for 30 days before
being disposed of.
Prohibited Items
Great North Express prohibits the transportation of ammunition or bear spray on our shuttles or
in the luggage storage area. If you are carrying a firearm, it must be stored in a locked container
before being placed in the luggage bin.
Luggage Checks
All carry-on luggage may be subject to search by Great North Express without prior notice.
Non-compliance with this policy will not be accepted and could result in forfeiture of travel.
